Hi David!
Long time no see!!! ;o) (that means, it's been a long time since I've seen one of your questions)
You always post such wonderful questions and comments. Iranians are wonderful people and it's nice to see some information about this view of Iran. Thank you.

Thank you. I now see a Iran from a different point of view, an unbiased by the media view. Thank you for taking the time to explain to the rest of us what the media is unable to show. Now if the rest of the world could be shown your Iran from your eyes we would all be better off.

The links still suck and you still fail to document any source for the facts you show. I want to say that it is very informative and people should read the whole thing. Keep posting the question. I think people should have the facts. The company that has the cure for AIDS should be mentioned. Show plans for the power plants give the specifics to support the essay. It is more like a manifesto at this point.

That was very well said but in the USA, people don't believe that much of what they read is propaganda. They have been told that countries like Iran are the only ones with propaganda from the government. Americans don't understand much about any other countries at all. I don't know why it is this way and am very sorry the US is acting like this. Like Iran, our government does what it wants and we only follow. People here are scared of everyone these days and mostly don't believe there are other good countries.

Thank you for trying to help people understand.

Thank you for laying it all out for your foreign friends!! I think Iran's pretty cool... This country got some beef with it due to the whole ayatollah thing and the hostages and whatnot, but hey, we should really let by-gones be by-gones... I have great respect for your president, and enjoy his kind and insightful words which he posts on his official presidental blog. (http://www.ahmadinejad.ir/) I wish my president were as techno-savvy!! Does the good doctor, your President Ahmadinejad, also own an Ipod??

I think your country plays a pretty interesting role in today's current affairs. The U.S. administration has been using your country and people as scapegoats to blame for how horrible our invasion of Iraq has been going. Our administration, in the "land of the free" has resisted all accountability for misleading this country to war, and also for not having a realistic strategy for resolving this bloody conflict. As one of the major states in the region who still function and haven't been bombed to embers, Iran is really one of the few political entities in the region that can actually do anything to help the situation in Iraq. If the American people follow the threats and nasty dialogue our public officals spout about Iran, we will invade Iran next, and then that will leave essentially no stable states in the region. The Middle East has got some serious problems these days, and a powerful state like Iran is absolutely necessary to maintain some order in the region. Our countries need to put our differences aside and work together if your neighbor to the West is ever going to get back onto its feet, and American forces can leave the area.

We Americans get shook up about our news media reporting supposed "threats" and calls for the destruction of Israel. I don't know if many Americans remember that yes, after World War II, the English essentially did cut out a nice piece of Palestinian land to form the Hebrew state, reinforced with Western military technology and training. As for me, Israel kinda has it coming... They've been on borrowed land for too long, however I doubt anybody will be able to force them to move. However, that's a whole other issue.. I would first like to see our American troops leave Iraq, and for a respectful dialogue to exist between Tehran and Washington.

Again, thanks for taking the time to express and explain an informed Iranian citizen's point of view on the state of affairs today. I whole-heartedly agree that our respective leaders talk a lot of garbage about each other simply to rile their citizens against each other, to perpetuate enemy roles, and to distract the masses from what is really going on. The war in Iraq needs to stop. Acheiving peace is paramount compared to bitter rivalries with a nation who could certainly be a powerful ally in our so-called 'war on terror'.

bin laden bombs the u.s.
bin laden was a saudi.
the u.s. bombs iraq.
the saudi's are still our buddies. we continue to fill our monsterous SUVs with saudi oil @ $3.69/gal.
iraq is still a mess.
we begin smack talk against iran
...no end in sight.

none of it makes any sense to me, man...... Let's hope these recent diplomatic talks bear some fruit for today's generation and generations to come...

best wishes and peace to you!
good luck!

it has to do with 2 things:

1) narcissism: advocates for communism/socialism (hereafter referred to as 'THEY') are so in love with themselves THEY think that the systematic murder of at least 100 million people in the pursuit of socialism/communism is due to the fact that THEY are not in charge - THEY being so much smarter than so many 'dear leaders' who have come before.

2) power: THEY are all about power. THEY want to be in charge for the sake of being in charge. THEY have convinced themselves (as they ponder the matter over a couple of doobies, lisping around the piercings mutilating their tongues, cheeks and lips) that THEY only have the best interests of mankind at heart, mankind who, though billions strong, don't know what's good for them; that THEY themselves squirm mightily under the restraints of their own parents or the laws of the land like those that forbid and punish the illegal drug trade, but consider their own discomfiture with restraints to their behavior to be a sign of their 'revolutionary heart' whilst ignoring the nature of mankind, which generally dislikes shackles, when they plot to overthrow society, or the government, and impose their own suffocating and un-humanlike restraints on others.

the only thing THEY think holds them back from glorious remaking of the world is convincing 6 billion people that THEY are smarter and wiser than 5,999,999,999. other human beings.

I'm an American who works for an airline...and so I fly free everywhere I go...(and I love friendly, warm-hearted people of all walks of life)
And when it comes to learning and visiting other societies and cultures, out motto is...

     Dignity & Diversity...? Definitely...!

The world would be a boring place without different societies and cultures...(but never forget... we're all Earthlings...)
May your life's travels be as fulfilling and fun as mine...! Travel in peace...
